DFW Airport
Well, today is the day that I finally leave toward Africa. Teresa Pinson and I are sitting here getting ready to board our plane for London’s Heathrow Airport. So far, I have not missed any planes or lost any items!
I am going to try to send blogs and pictures to give updates to family and friends about our comings and goings and whereabouts. As I reflect on the days ahead, I am excited, but a little nervous, because I prefer to travel with my husband who is excellent at logistical planning, but I trust that among the 4 of us women, God will be our guide.
Let me introduce to you the people who are involved in this trip to Africa: my long time friend, Teresa Pinson, who attends Victory Church. She is a talented and capable individual who not only owns 2 businesses but can sing, decorate, and design; she is the designated videographer and camera person for the trip. She has had lessons from Matthew Munger and has a Victory camera. She has watched the video “Invisiible Children” (please watch it!) and is ready to go. I do miss all the lights, tripods, and backpacks, etc. that Matthew and his crew would bring, but we are already loaded down with 3 checked bags each full of books and goodies for the good people of Africa whom we will meet, so what you see is what you will get where video footage is concerned.
In London, Teresa and I will be meeting Danita Estrella of the Hope for Haiti Orphanage in Ounaminthe, Haiti. Danita has felt God’s call in recent years to reach out to the children of Africa, so is a willing accomplice in our mission. Our tour guide will be Jana Lackey, my good friend from Bostwana who will meet us there in Africa to accompany us on a good part of our journey. We will be going to Johannesburg, South Africa; Maun, Botswana; Maseru, Lesotho; and Nairobi, Kenya.
Please pray for our safe travel and direction.
Love to all - Jennifer
