It’s a long flight to London with time for reflection on all that has happened in the last 24 hours. I received a message from Bishop Michael Kolisang in Maseru, Lesotho early this morning. He received a copy of my dream from Dario Navac from 3:16 Media, VMusic’s Distributor, who, coincidently, is married to Rheinhardt Bonnke’s middle daughter, Gabriel. Dario is the first one that I heard pronounce the word Lesotho out loud to show me the correct pronunciation (la-soo-too) after I shared my dream with him sometime during last summer. He also told me that Lesotho was where Rheinhardt had begun his ministry to Africa and had lived there for some years, I believe. Michael Kolisang served as an interpreter for Rheinhardt during those early days and now is the pastor of a church in the capitol city of Maseru.
So, now we are being offered to have a security escort while in Lesotho and have been invited to stay an extra day to attend Bishop Kolisang’s church on Sunday, March 8 which we are happy to do. Dario also put me in contact with an evangelist residing in Maseru, Joseph Mpakanyane, who was saved under Rheinhardt’s ministry years ago.
When I made the decision to go to Lesotho, I knew no one and had no contacts. It is amazing how things seem to come together at the last minute. Another God connection: when I had first mentioned my dream to Jana Lackey, (who will be our guide from Botswana), she had told me, “I know one person from Lesotho, Michael Kolisang, whom I haven’t spoken to in 20 years since he preached at an open air crusade for us when we first came to Africa.” God works in mysterious ways as the saying goes.
Bishop Kolisang’s daughter is his secretary. The name which I was given for her is ‘Mama T’ and guess who she is married to? Yes, that’s right —‘Papa T’. His real name is Kgosi Dichaba and he is the Information Technology guy for his father-in-law, Bishop Kolisang, and runs a radio station which I think the church owns. He was excited when Dario told him we would be bringing music CDs and asked us not to hold back, but bring lots of music as they need it for their radio station. So, yes, it looks like VMusic will be on the radio in the capitol city of Maseru.
I’m not sure what to expect from the capitol city. According to a travel book I bought at Barnes & Noble, “The capitol city of Maseru does grow on you after awhile”. Wow. The book mentions that sometimes the hotels don’t have running water in this city of 175, 000 whose main road “Kingsway” was paved in 1947 for a visit by the British monarchs. Evidently this road was the only paved road until recent years. It appears that there are a handful of paved roads now. The landscape/cityscape looks pretty bleak on Google Earth. The travel book mentions that some of the buildings have been rebuilt since the devastating damage sustained in a political war in 1998.
Anyway, Papa T told me in an email that he has a church member who is a policeman with the Child Protection Agency who is also about to be ordained as a minister. He is a part of a ministry called Fill the Gap and will organize someone in the police headquarters to assist us in learning about the human trafficking issues that abound.
Lord, I pray that You lead and guide us as we follow Your paths, Amen.
Until next time—love to all,
Jennifer
