I kept straining to look out of the window to see a glimpse of the greatest country on earth—the US of A. There was complete cloud cover over Dallas/Ft. Worth as our plane landing gear was going down. We had left Danita in London’s Heathrow airport. She went to Miami out of Gate 16 and Teresa and I went to Dallas/Ft. Worth from Gate 17.
What a trip we have had! I honestly don’t think it could have gone any better. We 3 and Jana were perfect traveling companions. All of us have an easy-going ‘go with the flow’ nature and were perfectly happy if plans had to change at the last minute. None of us stressed too much over the details, but all of us cried over the children. God has been so good to guide us and lead us on this entire trip. There were so many things that happened and contacts that were made once we started the trip of which we had no advance knowledge. But then again, that seems to be part of the nature of the walk of faith that is this life we live. God leads us every step of the way, but most of the time, it has been my experience that He only shows us the very next step, rather than every detail of the whole picture.
Teresa and I have some great ideas about how Victory can get involved in helping some of the ministries we visited and how we can help the children of Lesotho and the other countries. After I debrief with Mark and some of the VC staff, I will keep you posted about what steps we will plan to take in response to this trip.
Did I find the woman in my dream? Absolutely. Several of them. I think the woman in my dream represents all of the people who have prayed for and worked for the people of Lesotho. I am grateful to God for giving me the dream and for giving me the opportunity to visit. I also thank God for my good friends whom I have traveled with.
As we dip into the clouds and then break through, I see the overcast landscape of Dallas/Ft. Worth. Wow, it is beautiful! As the tears flow, I’m wondering if the British man seated next to me could possibly understand how it feels to be a citizen of the USA. I suppose people from every nation and tribe have pride in their country and I would never want to underestimate that, but today as I fly in, I am so grateful to God that he allowed me to be born a part of a nation where we hold this truth to be self evident: that all men (and women) are created equal and have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
